Phayam Divers Liveaboard - day 2 - 4 dives at Koh Bon and Koh Tachai

We hit the water at 7 AM after a good nights sleep. And then we spent almost 50 minutes underwater looking for those big fish. but a no show for Mikkel. No disappointment though, we just looked at all the other good things underwater including turtles and fish. Malene did get to see one but a bit in the distance.

Breakfast, relax, ready for 10:30 AM dive and then in the water to look at more fish at Koh Bon West. Also an amazing dive.

Back on the boat and we headed back towards Koh Tachai to do two more dives. When we jumped in the water at 2:30 PM at the Pinnacle we descended on the rope at the buoy and after a short while we had the company of two Manta rays getting close to us. It was really amazing since they swam really close to us. Malenes group also had the company of the big rays and everybody was a bit ecstatic once back on the ship. This is what we hoped for when we joined the trip.

Our ship moved to another location of the island and there was the option to take the dingy to the shore which Malene and most of the others took advantage of. So those of us staying behind had a quiet late afternoon on the ship, enjoying the late afternoon sun.

Once all of us were ready and back at the ship we headed to a bay on the north part of the island and had a very late sunset / night dive looking at the reef and the few fish that were there. The reef wasn't in a good shape but it was interesting to dive when it got dark and the whole mood underwater changed. Mikkel had  a sunset dive and Malene tried her first real night dive Two months ago she was sure she would never do a night dive but with more confidence about the under water life of fish and sharks and the fact that the dive was in a calm bay made her change her mind. It was a great dive with a cuddle fish (like a squid), a turtle and fluorescent in the water.

Back on the boat for dinner. We stay in the bay for most of the night since the next dive spot is only a few hours away. Another great day of dives and we are starting to get a little worn out of all the diving. 4 dives in a day is a bit much. But staying on the boat and missing a dive wasn't an option - just the thought of what could be missed seeing - and hearing the others talk about afterwards - renewed the energy.
